With the "Trust House Cycle Classic" or more commonly known "Tour of Wellington" fast approaching I decided to have a brief holiday down the peninsula with the family and Tess (dog :)where I would take the opportunity to relax at the beach with a nice cruse down the esplanade each morning, Although this nearly didn’t happen as we got half way to the beach house and realised the we had forgotten to pack my front wheel :( which turned out to be a blessing in disguise as when we got home my copy of ride magazine was waiting in the letter box.
Take two was more successful with nothing being left behind or forgotten, and we eventually arrived in Mt Martha where we could put the feet up and relax. After heading to safety beach for a bit, I decided the weather was too good to not go for a ride to Arthurs Seat and Sorrento taking my camera along for some happy snaps.

After my cruse along the esplanade, we drove out to Arthurs Seat to take Tess for a walk, not realising that Parks Victoria aren’t any fun and don’t allow dogs, forcing us to walk down the road instead of the path to the lookout where we watched the sun setting over Sorrento.

Day 2 started with my last hit out before I fly out to NZ for the Tour of Wellington on Monday, consisting of 2 max efforts up Arthurs followed by a spin to Sorrento and back with a few intermediate sprints.
Effort No1 was 9 mins and 42 seconds
Followed by
Effort No2 at 9 mins and 43 seconds (HR,Speed and other stats to come when i download the data)
A fair way off 8min 57 sec set by Luke Fetch (Torq) a few weeks back, but still not too bad for a non climber.
This was followed by a swim recovery session at Safety beach and run, chasing Tess who was insistent on rounding up all the other dogs on the beach, whist watching boats bigger than the average house leave the Safety Beach Marina (maybe one day....sigh).
But as they say all good things must come to an end, and it was time to head home :(
