Today was a day for our first propper ride, after spinning the stiffnes out of our legs for an hour yesterday. Trent, Nate, Nat, Addison, and myself got kitted up and head out at 10am towards the Canals which we were intending to follow out to the english channel and back. Unfortunately we got to the outskirts of Brugge and were stopped by police who had closed the canal side road, so we U-Bolted and head along the canal towards Ghent meeting up with a 65yo local rider who looked no older than 50, (maybe a side effect of all the riding?). Luckily he spoke english and lived in Brugge which was only 5km from where we are based and was heading out on an 80km ride. Perfect!
He was an awsome tour gude and took us around a nice loop along the canals.
Here are some pics taken during the ride

After the ride 4 of us headed into town to do some shopping before watching some TV and trying to decipher the cryptic butons and dials on the front of the washing machine.
Since ariving we have found 2 channels which have some shows in english, one the belgian tv version of Star FM back home. That is 10 songs repeated all day everyday. The other has South Park and a news program called "What The Fuck News". there have been Pro bike races on the tv during each day as well which is a nice change from Aussie tv.
